RED SHOES by Jacques Fath – A Floral Woody Fragrance
A fragrance with a silky effect that embodies both femininity and sensuality.
“Red Shoes” takes its name from the 1948 ballet film for which Jacques Fath designed the magnificent costumes worn by prima ballerina Moira Shearer. In 1950, Fath created an extraordinary red silk dress bearing the same name, famously worn by model Bettina. This iconic creation inspired the perfumer to compose a fragrance that captures the brilliance, elegance and movement of shimmering silk.
The scent opens with a sparkling freshness, where blue ginger and pink pepper evoke the cool metallic reflections of the lustrous red fabric. At its heart, the opulence of Rose Damascena Absolute intertwines with the richness of masterfully crafted patchouli, creating a fragrance with remarkable presence and an unforgettable trail.
The composition begins with vibrant notes of blackcurrant, red berries and grapefruit, delivering a fresh and fruity introduction. Aldehydes add a sparkling luminosity to the opening. As the fragrance develops, Rose Damascena Absolute reveals its luxurious floral character, enhanced by the green freshness of geranium. The warmth of ginger introduces a subtle spicy facet, while pink pepper adds brightness and energy. In the base, patchouli provides an earthy richness, beautifully softened by the creamy texture of cashmere wood and sensual musk.
